
ABUSE…The GAA has come under attack
GAELIC Life columnist Gerard O’Kane has said that the Liam Miller charity match debate once again shows that there are people intent on criticising the GAA at every turn.
While admitting the whole Páirc Uí Chaoimh issue has been somewhat over a PR disaster, the former Derry man passionately defends the Association and what it does for Irish society.
“We have a tendency in this country to begrudge and if someone is doing well we want to see them fall. Well I think it’s time we stated to admire this Dublin team for what they are – and that is one of the best teams, if not the best, to ever play the game.”
