Benny Coulter achieved his dream of playing an All-Ireland final, but winning one proved too elusive

IN our latest interview conducted by Kevin Cassidy, former Down star Benny Coulter has opened up about his desire to manage his native county at some future point.

The Mayobridge man also spoke at length about his playing days with Down and Mayobridge, as well as talking about his adventures down under with the likes of Kevin ‘Hub’ Hughes.

Coulter will manage his native club with Francie Poland next season and sigalled his intention to take the management reins at Down in the future.

“I will say this now, I want to manage the Down senior footballers some day and I feel that I can be a success. I have a drive and desire that will get me there one day.

“I think I know what way I want to go and this year with my club is chapter one.”
