All-Star Derry ladies football nominations – Steelstown and Ballymaguigan in focus

Steelstown were exceptional in the county final when their brilliant start helped them to gain an unassailable lead over Ballymaguigan. The St Trea’s club put up a good battle but couldn’t catch the Derry city girls.

AOIFE MCGOUGH (STEELSTOWN)

It was Steelstown’s great scoring performance that helped them win the Derry title, but they needed a confident full back line and Aoife McGough’s presence in that area was crucial.

ERIN DOHERTY (BALLYMAGUIGAN)

Ballymaguigan should take confidence in the fact that they were able to reach the semi-final. Erin Doherty stood out for them this season with her forceful displays around midfield.

ORLAGH MCGEOUGH (STEELSTOWN)

McGeough is  becoming one of the most exciting players in Derry. Brilliantly talented, the star foward hit 1-3 in the final. Steelstown and Derry should be excited about her incredible potential.
