Sleacht Néill regained the Senior Football Championship having missed out for the past two years. They defeated Magherafelt in the final by 0-11 to 1-4 to earn their sixth title and remind everyone in the county that they have not gone away.
CHRISSY MCKAIGUE (SLEACHT NEILL)
McKaigue is one of the most senior players on the Robert Emmett’s team and is one of the leaders in the squad. He marshalled the defence at centre half back and helped to stop any major Magherafelt chances developing.
CONOR MCCLUSKEY (MAGHERAFELT)
Playing at wing half back McCluskey was one of Magherafelt’s counter attacking threats. He also helped to break up play. McCluskey scored a point in the county final against Sleacht Néill but he couldn’t do any more to trouble the Emmett’s.
SHANE MCGUIGAN (SLEACHT NÉILL)
McGuigan seems to be getting better every year as his ability to get scores improves with each game plays. He’s very difficult to mark and leaves defences nervous when he gets free.
