IT will be a waiting game for the camogs on Friday week to see who is named as the Player of the Year when the Gaelic Life All-Star gala night returns after a year’s absence. Sleacht Néill have dominated the Ulster senior championship on their way to the three All-Ireland titles.

Shannon Graham (2016, 2019), Tina Bradley (née Hannon 2017) and Louise Dougan (2018) have picked up the last four awards, with none of them listed on this season’s Team of the Year.
“It’s a privilege to get an award like this when you see the players on the All-Star team,” Graham commented after being honoured in 2019.
We will announce our Camog the Year, sponsored C Tec (NI) Ltd, from the Team of the Year that was announced last month.

Sleacht Néill’s Jolene Bradley was selected as goalkeeper, having been in the 2018 team with her brother Gerald a recent Hurler of the Year. Only Aoife Ní Chaiside and Céat McEldowney remain from the 2019 team, with Aoife named in an attack after her new role as the link player in the Sleacht Néill system.

The Emmet’s and Loughgiel have gone head to head in the senior final, with the Shamrocks represented on the team by Maria Lynn and Lucia McNaughton.
Tyrone’s Naomh Treasa have picked up All-Ireland honours, thanks to the efforts of Áine McNulty who is selected at wing forward, with Glen’s Rebecca Kirkpatrick also rewarded for her imprint on Glen’s Ulster success.

Eoghan Rua Coleraine have enjoyed Ulster success and are represented in the team by defender Maria Mooney and Ireland hockey captain Katie Mullan who is back to her camogie roots.
Portaferry are also represented in the selection by trio Saoirse Sands, Niamh and Aimee Mallon.
The Gaelic Life judging panel will look for the most consistent performer who was always there when needed to turn a game on its head. When you see the 15 players in contention, it’ll be hard to pick a winner.
