IT was another brilliant Down ladies season and in the end Bredagh came out on top. They have two players in the running for an All-Star with Carryduff also involved.
AOIBHEANN MCCARVILLE (BREDAGH)
McCarville has long been known as a leading figure in Bredagh having captained the Minors to Ulster glory in 2019, and she was absolutely brilliant as the Cherryvale club came out on top in the Mourne county last season. The Down player grabbed a goal in the final win over Carryduff.
KATE KEANEY (BREDAGH)
It is a young Bredagh side playing right now so Keaney’s experience was invaluable to their successful championship campaign. Keaney, of course, plays her county football with Donegal but she has made a massive impact on the Down club scene with her runs up the right wing causing teams all sorts of bother.
JESSICA FOY (CARRYDUFF)
Foy may be noted for her brilliant soccer exploits with Glentoran, but she has long been a scoring sensation on the GAA pitch too and showed that this year with a series of great attacking displays. The free-taker’s accuracy was vital in the side’s thrilling win over Bryansford, although the county final was a step too far for the side.
