Peter Donnelly hoping to take Crossmaglen Scalp

In this week’s Gaelic Life, Ronan McSherry speaks to Tyrone strength and conditioning coach and recently converted Coalisland goalkeeper, Peter Donnelly.

Throughout the interview Donnelly takes about his journey from answering a goalkeeping crisis call to picking up another Tyrone senior medal in a year he didn’t believe he would be involved.

“We were in Eglish watching the reserve championship between Coalisland and Omagh and Damian (O’Hagan) spoke to me about doing goals. I laughed and later on he rang me and said ‘i’m not joking’.”

The Tyrone coach stressed that although they enjoyed the celebrations they were back in training two night’s after ahead of the clash with the Armagh champions.

“We’ve all made our trips to the Athletic Grounds and all over Ulster to watch Crossmaglen over the last 15 years, everyone admires the Crossmaglen club.”
