Donnelly prepares for historic Burren battle

In this week’s Gaelic Life, Niall McCloy gets a Farney view on the weekend’s action as he chats to Scotstown boss, Kieran Donnelly ahead of their trip to Pairc Esler to take on Burren.

Taking the job only week’s after his counterpart Paddy O’Rourke took the helm at Burren he is proud that both men are keeping up the traditions at both clubs.

“Both clubs have notoriously done well in the Ulster Club and have had a couple of Titanic clashes in the past.”

Scotstown have already got off the mark in Ulster seeing off Derrygonnelly in the Preliminary Round, a game Donnelly was happy to get over the line in.

“Derrygonnelly was a tough and physical game. You find that Ulster Club games tend to be tight for large periods and that was the case for most of it.”
