Translink Ulster Coach of the Year Awards Launched

Translink and Ulster GAA have teamed up for the second year to launch the 2018 Coach of the Year awards.

All-Ireland winning manager, Joe Kernan was in attendance to help launch the initiative which celebrates the work carried out by volunteer club coaches across the province for the lasting impressions they make on both individuals and communities.

Players, parents, club and committee members now have until Sunday November 4th to put forward their entries which will be judged by a distinguished panel including, Joe Kernan, Ulster PRO Michael Geoghegan and sports columnist Neil Loughran.

The panel will select one finalist from each county to go forward to a public vote where the overall winner will win a prize which includes specially commissioned kit for themselves and free coach travel for their team, courtesy of Translink.

Speaking at the launch Joe Kernan praised the initiative and encouraged involvement from all quarters.

“As a former manager, player and life-long GAA supporter, I’m delighted to be a part of these awards and encourage people from every county to put forward a person they think is deserving of the accolade before 4 November, so get nominating!”
