Cassidy – The Ingredients for a Winning Team

In this week’s Gaelic Life, columnist Kevin Cassidy talks about what is required for a club to reach a county final.

Ahead of representing his club, Gaoth Dobhair in this Sunday’s Donegal senior county final, Cassidy admits that he believed his days of playing in a county decider had gone but finds himself back on the big day, 12 years on from his last.

“It’s county final week and although I have chased this moment since we last played in the final back in 2006. If i’m being honest I thought my own chance had gone.

“For any team to reach the decider a number of things must be in place. You must have a squad in place that back up their words with actions so in other words they train when they say they will train.”
