LET me begin by saying that we have all done things that we are not proud of on the football pitch but we kind of accept it as just part and parcel of the game. Personally I know that I am a completely different person when I cross that white line and have been told so on numerous occasions. Off the field I would be quite
friendly and would do you a turn if I could but on the pitch I’m a different animal.
I think that comes for your competitive nature within and for me personally everyone is an enemy when it comes to game-time. I think this is a positive attribute as long as you don’t take it too far.

I’ll hold my hands up and say that I definitely give as good as I get on the football pitch whether it’s getting physical or dishing out the verbals. In my own defence – and it’s something that I am proud
of – I have never been the one to start an altercation. When I walk on the pitch I won’t even speak to my opponents and if they are happy to carry on with the game and play it the way it should be played then I’m happy enough with that, but should they start to engage then I would by no means back down.
