UNKNOWN…These Monaghan players haven’t experienced an All-Ireland semi-final but Kevin Cassidy has backed them

GAELIC life columnist Kevin Cassidy believes that Tyrone are the perfect opposition to keep Monaghan focused on progressing to the All-Ireland final.

Writing in today’s edition, the Donegal man says that the Red Hands will bring out the best in Monaghan – and the best will be good enough to reach the decider.

“For Monaghan I don’t think you could have hand-picked a better opponent for their semi-final clash if you tried. The carrot of reaching and All-Ireland final is big enough but when you add their neighbours and fierce rivals Tyrone into the mix then it’s sure to spark a fire in the belly of those Monaghan players.”
