Dungloe GAA pitch.

Toughest training session you’ve every been involved in?

Any pre-season training session.

What’s your preferred brand of gear?

Adidas.

Most inspirational individual you’ve ever met?

John Haran.

Where do you like to go out to celebrate?

Terry at the Mount Errigal Hotel puts up a good steak and Blake’s Bar, Letterkenny would be our go to spot, it’s just a pub.


What do you like to do when you are not training/playing?

I enjoy watching/competing in rallying and athletics.


Which character in any film/tv show are you most like?

Ricky Bobby from Talladega Nights.

Which team mates (From any club/county) are the first you’d invite on a night out?

Michael Miller (you could write a book on that man) and Hugh Gallagher, never a dull moment in his presence.

Which team mate is the worst dancer

Stephen McBrearty, classes himself as a hip-hop king.

Mark Anthony McGinley, forever chatting crumb.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen happen in training/during a match?

In an u-16 club match our midfielder caught the throw-in and ran the whole pitch to score a fisted point, turns out he scored in the wrong goals.

What’s the worst excuse you’ve heard to get out of training and who did it come from?

Mick Martin was apparently away on holidays one weekend during a club league game, the manager called to his house knocked on his door to find him hiding behind the couch.

Biggest ego?

Eddie Blake, still waiting on a senior call up.

Worst/best person to sit next to on the team bus?

Best is Caolan Ward always focused, worst is Dylan Sweeney always has something to give out about.

Worst/best person to share a room with on away days?

Best is Cian Mulligan and worst is Rory Carr.

Who has the best diet, and who has the worst, and what do they consist of?

Best is Eamonn Doherty can be seen having lunch boxes consisting of fresh fruit and veg made in a stir fry dish, worst is Niall O’Donnell, he doesn’t believe in dieticians.

Michael Murphy/Patrick McBrearty.

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

Declan Bonner/Maxi Curran.

What frustrates you most about the GAA?

Trying to balance work life and training, we’re not all cut out to be teachers!

What is the best thing about being part of the GAA?

Growing up playing with friends at underage level and then later playing alongside them at senior football.
