Social Media reaction – Moyne success

Donaghmoyne won the Al-Ireland Ladies football senior club championship final

Donaghmoyne won the Al-Ireland Ladies football senior club championship final

Donaghmoyne Ladies Footballers emphasised their dominance of club ladies football at the weekend when they beat Foxrock-Cabinteely in the All-Ireland final.

While Donaghmoyne are a club rich in success at ladies football, their 2-9 to 0-8 actually won them back to back titles for the first time. It was their fifth All-Ireland title.

Cathriona McConnell was their key player in the victory as she managed to rack up a personal tally of 1-5.

The Monaghan champions did all their hard work in the first half, as they were 1-7 to 0-0 ahead with 28 minutes gone.

At the start of the second half, Louise Kerley goalled for Donaghmoyne when the Foxrock keeper spilled the ball. The Dublin side did their best to get back into the game, but they had left themselves too much to do.
