Na Magha hurling club paid this wonderful tribute to former player Aodhán O’Donnell at the weekend.
The club from Derry City were playing a championship match against Swatragh, with every player wearing the No.13 shirt famously worn by player Aodhán O’Donnell who tragically died in July of this year. Every player also had ‘AOD’ written on their arms, and while Swatragh proved too good on the day, the O’Donnell family took a certain comfort in Na Magha scoring 13 points – Aodhán’s number.
The 19 year old also represented Derry.
The photos were taken by Aodhán’s father Gerry.
