With the league season fast approaching, Pauric Grimes has written article giving advice to those over 30s who are trying to get their place on a club team full of younger men than them.

He says: “For a club footballer in his early to mid 30s it all comes down to this – training quality over quantity.

“When time is at a premium, whatever time you do have allotted for training must be spent well.

“Do not neglect strength training.

“Sports scientists have proven time and time again that lifting weights in-season will help reduce the chance of injuries.”

Patric Grimes goes on to outline that over 30s should take during their season to avoid injury and to stay strong.
