Writing in this week’s edition, the Donegal man said that he was perplexed when people were complaining to him about some Tir Chonaill performances.

“Supporters must realise that this is like an audition; managers are shifting through the rubble trying to unearth a gem or two that may possibly bolster their championship squad.

“The Dublins and Kerrys of this world, with their never ending conveyor belts of talent, still motor strongly at this time of year but when the smaller counties give new faces a chance there is the change of hidings and poor performances.”
