John Martin: Owenbeg crowd papered over the cracks

GAELIC Life hurling columnist John Martin has said that the goodwill that surrounded the massive attendance at Slaughtneil v Dunloy last week is simply papering over the cracks.

Writing in today’s edition, Martin discusses the problems in-depth and suggests that the sport is in dire straits in Ulster.

“There were no traffic issues at Corrigan Park despite local road closures. There wasn’t 6,142 supporters through the turnstiles at the west Belfast venue. The attendance was closer to 61.”
