John Morrison – How Mickey Harte reinvented Tyrone

Mickey Harte

In his column in this week’s Gaelic Life, John Morrison talks about how managers must make sure that players feel accepted.

Morrison says that this is something that Mickey Harte has done during his career as county manager.

“Mickey clearly communicates that his acceptance [of players] is based on the players as a person.”

Morrison goes on to add later in the piece:

“Mickey has always recruited key players who can help his team to be in contention for national titles, year on year.

“Mickey and his team accept their losses as learning opportunities especially for the younger players as they improve, nurturing the idea of winning every game and a National title.”
