John Morrison – ignite your team’s enthusiasm

In his column in this week’s Gaelc Life John Morrison highlights nine ways for a coach to maintain a powerful team energy.

Morrison says that managers must be careful not to be sarcastic with players. He says that that can lead players to be reluctant to take chances.

He said that managers must be clever as to how they provide advice to players. That rather than focus on negatives, managers must give advice that will encourage players to make the correct decision in the future.

“During difficult times talking to players about those difficulties can help to restore confidence in the ‘team as family’ concept.

“Reignite enthusiasm by having a team meeting to display strength support and encouragement.

“Remember enthusiasm is a habit and comes with practice.”
