GAELIC Life columnist Kevin Cassidy believes that the ‘Super 8s’ could go a long way to disillusioning the weaker teams in the GAA.

Writing in today’s edition, the former Donegal star believes that the promotional push that is sure to follow could cause big problems down the line.

“The Championship from next year on will be about the ‘Super 8s’, TV campaigns and coverage will be geared towards it, all the hype of the Championship will be focused on it and the general public won’t really care what else is happening outside the ‘Super 8’ games.

“So what reasons remain for players who play for the weaker counties to keep the flag flying?”
