DONEGAL manager Rory Gallagher has confirmed that Neil Gallagher has retired from inter-county football, Donegal GAA have announced.

The Glenswilly man made his debut in a Dr McKenna Cup match against Queen’s in December 2003 and played a pivotal role in the county’s recent success – including their 2012 All-Ireland title. Gallagher also finishes his career with two Allstars to his name.

Gallagher is the latest in a long line of Donegal players to step away.

Eamon McGee, Colm McFadden, Rory Kavanagh, Christy Toye and David Walsh have all retired since the end of last season.
