THE HUNT BEGINS AGAIN…Slaughtneil start their pursuit of the Seamus McFerran Cup on Sunday

GAELIC Life columnist Brian McGuigan has tipped Slaughtneil to complete an Ulster hurling and football double.

The Robert Emmet’s already have the Four Seasons Cup in the bag, and they are favourites to collect the Seamus McFerran as well.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s quarter-final with Derrygonnelly Harps, McGuigan said that they can go all the way.

“The final quarter-final involves my own tip for Ulster, Slaughtneil, as they come up against Derrygonnelly,” he said.

“The Derry side are on a crest of a wave that has been unheard of before with their hurling and football exploits.

“Week in, week out they are playing with the weekdays centered around recovery but this week will be a bit better as they have the easiest of the draws and their hurling focus is out of the way.”

SLAUGHTNEIL are on the look out for a new manager following Terence McWilliams’s departure.

The Derry club have accepted Mickey Moran's decision to step down.
