Ronan O’Neill celebrates scoring Tyrone’s first goal yesterday

Tyrone enjoyed a comprehensive win over Derry on Sunday, a game which was over as a contest by half time.

Mickey Harte’s men ran out as 3-14 to 0-12 winners. The game had began in a competitive nature, however, two early goals from Ronan O’Neill and a major from Peter Harte  left the half time score line at 3-8 to 0-6, and the game over as a contest.

Tyrone’s well marshalled defence, and strong scoring threat meant that Derry simply had not chance of winning the game, as they were wasteful and naive in possession.

As a result of this one-sided victory, the pundits were swooning about the Red Hands’ potential:
