Fantasy Football – Week three – not too late to start

GLFF-2016Champ

As Tyrone’s first championship fantasy points are gone, there are many who might feel that they have missed their chance to win the top prize. How wrong you are.

With Monaghan and Donegal yet to play, two teams who are expected to stay in the championship for a long time, there are plenty of points to earn.

At the same time, there are points from other counties worth considering, and one of those is Cavan.

The Breffni county were promoted to division one just like Tyrone, so they should put up a big score this weekend, but also go on something of a run in this year’s championship as well.

Last week saw one previous GL Fantasy All-star hit the high notes, as Peter Harte top scored with 23 fantasy points.

And this weekend the 2016 NFL Fantasy Allstar Gearoid McKiernan takes his Championship bow.

McKiernan will hit a big score this weekend, but  it is unlikely to be a barn-storming plus-20 points return.

One Cavan player who could very well break the 20 points mark is Raymond Galligan. The keeper kicks the frees for Cavan, and has regularly been in the top five scorers for the past few competitions. He earned 51 fantasy points in last year’s championship, and 93 in this year’s league.

Michael Argue should also be considered, he’s a midfielder in the fantasy competition, but has been named in the full forward line by Terry Hyland.

Dara McVeety and David Givney should register a good few scores.

Cavan’s best Fantasy full backs in the league were Padraig Faulkner and Killian Clarke.
