Cushendall beat Loughgiel by a point to reach the county final

Cushendall beat Loughgiel Shamrocks hurlers for the second year in the row, this time by a point in the county semi-final.

The Shamrocks, who were All-Ireland champions in 2012, put on a determined display but despite Liam Watson’s haul of 0-10 points, Loughgiel could not get the better of Cushendall.

Neil McManus was Cushendall’s best player, racking up a total of 0-11 as he proved that he was the best target man on the day.

Cushendall now must beat Ballycastle in the final if they are to defend their Antrim Championship.

The social media reaction to the semi-final was very positive, as fans sought to praise the Ruairi Ogs for their quality performance.
