Fantasy Football Blog – Three lessons from week one

The big success of gameweek one was Martin McElhinney’s barn-storming performance for Donegal.
The St Michael’s player returned the most fantasy points, an impressive 18, thanks to the Donegal win and his goal and two points scored.

Toye story

Another St Michael’s player was second place in the fantasy points list. Midfielder Christy Toye managed 12 fantasy points, thanks to his two points scored.
If McElhinney and Toye, two midfielders, continue to play attacking roles then they will put up big scores this season.

Donegal defence

Perhaps the biggest disappointment for Fantasy Managers was that Donegal conceded a goal. The Tir Chonaill side were miserly in defence last year but Darren McCurry exposed a gap in their defence and lost a lot of people a lot of points.

The Number one team at the moment is Sean Perry’s team which is made up entirely of Donegal players:
