QUEEN’S manager Anthony McGrath has dampened hopes that the university could return to the Dr McKenna Cup in 2014.

The Malone Road men took the step of withdrawing from the competition last month because of the row over a number of their players representing their counties in the competition, and McGrath believes that the situation is unlikely to change.

“This time last year we were getting assurances that there would be a meeting the week after the McKenna Cup final, “ said the Donegal man.
“That meeting never took place and we’ve been asking for a meeting since then.”
