Buzzing in Ballinderry

Ballinderry manager Martin McKinless
Ballinderry manager Martin McKinless told Gaelic Life this week that the excitement is grown in the Loughshore club ahead of Sunday’s clash with Slaughtneil in the county final.
Ballinderry are bidding to win back-to-back county titles for the first time since 2002, and McKinless says the pressure is on.
“Ahead of the county final, the excitement only really starts in the week running up to the game,” he said.
“We are lucky in Ballinderry because we have such good fans and hopefully we can deliver.”
Ballinderry failed to defend their title in 2009, 2007, and it is an acheivement that McKinless dearly wants, as to do so cements his team’s reputation.
“We set out at the start of the year to do this, because we have failed to do it before. In the last number of years we have taken our foot off the pedal. We thought that we had the right to win the title. But it doesn’t work like that anymore.”
