Ulster tips Kilkenny for final

Joe Canning, Galway, in action against Michael Rice, Kilkenny
While the opinion was not unanimous, the seven Ulster hurlers we spoke to this week all agree that Kilkenny are worthy favourites for this weekend’s All-Ireland final.
Most of them also agree that the game is likely to be a physical one, with Kilkenny expected to get the upper hand. The Cat’s performance in the semi-final wowed the Ulster lads, and bolstered their confidence in Kilkenny’s bid to regain the All-Ireland title.
Those who do fancy Galway to cause an upset do so more out of hope than anything else.
A few of the lads think that winning the Leinster final will probably go against the Tribe, who are expected to be at the mercy of a Kilkenny team who will be out for revenge.
However, all of them agreed that this weekend’s All-Ireland final is likely to be a brilliant game of hurling in which both teams will battle hard right up to midway through the second half when Kilkenny will push on and take the spoils. Liam is heading back to the Marble City.
