Donegal will win says former star Duffy

Donegal boss Jim McGuinness played with John Duffy in the ’90s
EX-DONEGAL player, and a former team mate of Jim McGuinness, John Duffy is certain that Donegal will win this weekend’s All-Ireland final as he believes there has never, in the history of the GAA, been a team better prepared than Jim McGuinness’s side.
Duffy, who played during the 90s and featured alongside McGuinness in the 1998 Ulster final, believes that it is his former team mate’s influence on the team that has made them so successful.
Indeed, he thinks that Sunday’s clash could be one of the most one-sided games in history.
“Donegal will win the All-Ireland final, no question about it,” he said.
“Donegal will be clear by at least five points at the final whistle.
“If they get a run at the start it could be one of the most one-sided finals in history.”
Duffy has already gone on record with local newspapers in Donegal about his confidence in the county team’s abilities, and following their quarter and semi-final wins against Kerry and Cork, Duffy saw no reason to change his mind on that matter.
If anything, those games, coupled with Mayo’s second half performance against Dublin, left Duffy in no doubt as to how the game is going to pan out.
“I believe that there has never been a better prepared football team. In terms of this Donegal team’s fitness and physicality they are streets ahead of everyone else,” he said.
