Massive clash at Breffni

Castlerahan’s Ronan Flanagan
SFC Quarter-Final
Castlerahan v Belturbet
Sunday, Breffni Park, 7.30pm
The battle between Castlerahan and Belturbet at Breffni Park will bring the curtain down on what is a packed weekend of championship fayre, and spectators look set to see plenty of scores at Cavan’s GAA HQ in this clash.
Castlerahan topped group one with three wins from three outings, racking up the scores along the way with 2-12 against Drumgoon, 1-18 against Redhills and 2-15 against Ramor. It is that sort of potent scoring threat which makes them extremely tough opposition for
Belturbet, who must try to curb that free-flowing Castlerahan attack if they are to experience success and book a place in the last four.
Belturbet made it through to this stage courtesy of a win and a draw from their two games in group four. They shared the spoils with Ballinagh, 0-11 each, in the final round of games to ensure that both sides progressed to the quarter-finals, with both having previously secured wins against Drumalee.
This is by far and away the toughest test Belturbet have faced so far, and although they go into the clash with confidence, it is difficult to see any out come other than a comfortable Castlerahan win.
Verdict: Castlerahan
