Hinphey targets Championship

Kevin Lynch's Kevin Hinphey
SUNDAY’S crushing defeat to Antrim in the Ulster Final will have little bearing on how Kevin Hinphey approaches the county championship and the league run in with his club Kevin Lynch’s.
According to the county star he’s as eager to win this season’s title as he is any other year.
Derry were hammered by Antrim 3-18 to 0-9 at Casement Park having been tipped to challenge the Saffrons in their bid for 11 successive provincial titles, but it was not to be.

“I would say that a lot of people were disappointed with how we played including myself. I didn’t play too well at all, and I know that other boys didn’t play too well either,” Hinphey said.
“It was just one of those days when things didn’t go for us. We didn’t play well as a team, but it will be good to get back playing with our clubs. We don’t want to dwell on that result for too long.”
