THE ULSTER Championship is going to crank up a few gears this weekend. It’s going to be a more competitive match than last week, but at the minute, all signs are pointing to a Monaghan win.
Darren Hughes is going to be a massive loss, as a leader as well as a player. Tommy Freeman seems to be struggling badly at the minute too, there hasn’t been much chat about him so it’ll be interesting to see what role if any he plays.
After Tyrone won a couple of times against Monaghan over the years, I think it got into their heads that they couldn’t beat us. No matter what they tried, it just didn’t work.

It was as if Monaghan had accepted that we were going to beat them. Monaghan can seem to raise their game against every other team, but they couldn’t do it against Tyrone.
