Doyle receiving injections for injury
DOWN’S Liam Doyle has revealed that he is receiving injections to speed up his recovery from a calf muscle tear, and hopes that he can return to training within the fortnight.
The Liatroim Fontenoys player enjoyed a great start to the season, having featured in the McKenna cup, and their first two games in the league, but has missed every game since.
“It’s a tear in the calf muscle. I was getting treatment for a tear, then I got a scan and it confirmed what it was. I am getting injections to speed the recovery up. Hopefully it will be quick and I hope to be back in training in a few weeks time,” Doyle said.
Doyle is one of the most experienced players on the team, and had got his season off to a flier scoring 1-4 of Down’s 1-10 during their one point victory over Donegal. He also scored 0-2 against Cork from centre half back.
