Former Saffron confident of beating Wexford

ANTRIM may have lost their last two games in a row, but former midfielder Joe Quinn is not concerned, and believes that they will beat Wexford on Sunday. The reason? Gearoid Adams.

“Gearoid will have them all fired up for the game. From playing along with him, and knowing him personally, he won’t be happy with those results, and he will have said a few things that cannot be repeated. He is the type who does not rest on his laurels and he will have them fired up.”

After a flying start, when Antrim won their first three games, against Sligo, Tipperary and Offaly, the Saffrons slipped to defeat against Longford and Roscommon.

Having been in pole position to gain promotion, Antrim are up against it to make the climb to the second tier, though a win against Wexford, who are in second place in Division three behind Longford, may give them a chance to achieve their promotion goal.

Quinn thinks that they can do it.
“I think that a couple of years ago I would have been concerned about Wexford. But not now because of the way they have shown that they can play.”
