Curry defends Armagh selection policy

Armagh v Meath
Sunday, Crossmaglen, 2.30pm
ARMAGH hurler Nathan Curry is eager to forget last weekend’s 7-30 to 0-7 drubbing at the hands of Kildare in the NHL Division 2B.
The Orchard county were resoundingly beaten, and then criticised by the Kildare manager Willie Sunderland for fielding an inexperienced side, which led to the large defeat.
Yet while Curry was unhappy with the loss, he defended Michael Johnston’s approach to this year’s league campaign.
“From a management point of view, Michael has always been using all the matches to field development squads, and has been using a panel of 35. It is good having 35 of a squad. There is nobody guaranteed of a place.”
