Attacker Swift and midfielder Lavery withdrew from the action for Armagh Harps and Maghery respectively, and although they sat our training on Tuesday night, Murtagh insists their absence will not be long-term.
“The two boys picked up knocks as opposed to pulls or anything. They didn’t train on Tuesday night, and they may miss the second session this week, but we’d be hopeful that they could play some sort of part in our training programme this weekend.”
With another round of senior games scheduled for last night, the county senior team management are keeping their fingers crossed that their troops come through unscathed. “The games have been coming thick and fast, and in fairness to the boys they’ve been coping admirably with it all. Of course we have a few boys carrying knocks and bumps, but you expect that, and all in all thankfully we’ve got away lightly so far. Hopefully that will continue for us as the Down match gets ever closer.”
